A blackwork celebration of being left home alone at Christmas (and also being mapless in Manhattan). Featuring designs that would remind you of such things, like:

πŸŽ„ A heated, monogrammed door knob. The cornerstone of any secure home.

πŸŽ„ Toothbrushes which may or may not be approved by the ADA

πŸŽ„ A van and running faucets (I'm British though, so 'taps')

πŸŽ„ An iron, cascading down a laundry chute (a classic Christmas occurrence)

πŸŽ„ A neighbourhood of houses

πŸŽ„ A fan and feathers (another classic Christmas thing)

πŸŽ„ A Recording Device, to represent those times in the 90s we couldn't just google hotel phone numbers to make reservations

πŸŽ„ Suspended paint cans (a classic Christmas decoration)

πŸŽ„ Two turtle doves, to symbolise making friends in the park, and also a lovely ribbon banner to represent New York City toy shops

πŸŽ„ Bonus tarantula (the most festive insect)!

Good To Know

Please note that this piece includes some fractional stitches. There's a guide included in your download to help you get started if you've not worked with them before. The piece was designed to be completed using a standard backstitch.

A bit of thread info

When stitching this I used about 1.5 to 2 skeins of DMC 310 (Black). I also included some colour accents which amounted to less than 50cm of metallic thread for each. The colours you use do not have to be the same, but here is what I used for reference:

• DMC E815 (Dark Red Ruby)
• DMC E699 (Green Emerald)
• DMC E677 (White Gold)

Included in your download

• PDF Pattern for Screen

• PDF Pattern for Print

• PDFs of some helpful hints (includes a fractional stitch guide)
